Drones look at the world for us from above. They overcome obstacles on our behalf or penetrate remote corners. Like many technologies, these high-tech aircraft without pilots were first developed for the military. With cameras on board, reconnaissance drones spy out enemy territory and combat drones fire missiles. Today, however, it is mainly civilian drones that are on the move: they are smaller and, above all, much cheaper and easier to operate. However, thanks to enormous advances in electronics, sensor technology and miniaturisation, they are also quite something.
