It is essential for industrial firms in Switzerland to be able to identify technological developments and react to them in good time. On behalf of the Swiss Confederation, the SATW compiles a regular strategic monitoring report devoted to such early recognition, called Technology Outlook.

In the "Technology Outlook 2017", more than 20 experts are assessing the opportunities and risks of technical developments for Switzerland. Topics include industry 4.0 (or fourth industrial revolution), artificial intelligence, robotics or new manufacturing processes. Switzerland has great advantages in terms of location, but there is also a certain need to catch up with.
