The current President of SATW, Willy Gehrer, has decided to step down before the end of his term of office at the end of May 2021. The heavy workload in recent months, combined with his age, are the reasons for his personal decision. It will also enable the Executive Committee to take advantage of the momentum created by the replacement of the General Secretariat, which has already taken place.
The Executive Committee makes use of the resignation of Willy Gehrer (left) to propose a co-presidency to the General Assembly, as is known from other engineering academies abroad. Christofer Hierold (centre) and Peter Seitz (right) would stand for election as interim Co-Presidents.
